Start of the spooky season

When the nights get longer and darkness slowly creeps through the trees, the spooky season begins again for all halloween fans and the whole family. Eerily beautiful creations already populated the parish courtyard in munchaurach over the weekend in the most autumnal of weather conditions. Skeletons dangled in the bushes and crude spiders crawled in their webs on the wall.

The home and garden association, in cooperation with the protestant church congregation and the municipality of aurachtal, had once again invited everyone to the kurbis festival for young and old alike. Children and their parents were eager and happy to carve a curb, competing to create the most impressive piece possible. At the campfire stick bread was baked and spooky games and handicraft stations invited to participate in the "crazy kurbisfest" the wheel of fortune was spinning.

In the basement of the community center, the children could listen to the marchenerzahler or simply taste sausages and halloween cake. In between a hustle and bustle of parents with children of all ages – a mixture of children's birthday party and costume party. Kafer, princesses, vampires, elves and little ghosts love to make an appearance. A number of parents took part in the spab, wearing witch hats or having their faces painted. Mayor klaus schumann (uwb) and pastor peter soder also mingled with the crowd undressed. "The motto today is the kurbis, but for the children it may also be something halloween", the mayor was pleased about the hustle and bustle.
